Furniture Key Words:-

M.F.C. Melamine Faced Chipboard tops and panels. 25mm thick with 2mm edging.
Left or Right handed The side of the workstation which you would work from - view workstations.
Mobile Underdesk Pedestal 2 or 3 drawer locking storage cabinet on wheels for easy mobility, fits under desk or workstation.
Desk High Pedestal 3 drawer locking storage cabinets (NOT MOBILE) fits next to desk or workstation at the same time creating more work surface.Note there are 2 different depths as there are different depths on desks and workstations.
Modular Where a number of units make up a package such as the 2.4m or 3.6m conference tables and the reception package.
Cantilever Legs Heavy duty metal double strut legs fitted to desks and workstations the shape of these legs is referred to as "cantilever".
Panel End Instead of metal cantilever legs we use 25mm thick MFC panels instead. Desks and workstations have panels at the ends and conference tables sit on sculpted panels allowing for more leg room, important if you don't want to sit between a panel.

Seating Key Words:-

Back rake The operator chair back rakes backwards or forwards, once required position found locks to secure either with a wheel which tightens up or on better models a lever which is easier to operate.
Push button The height of the chair is raised up and down by pushing a button under the chair. This is found on the computer chair only.
Twin lever The operator chair has 2 levers - one to allow the back to rake back and forth and then lock in position. The other lever to raise the chair seat up and down.
Independent (3 lever) The Deluxe and Superior operator chairs have 3 levers, one to allow the back to rake back and forth and lock. The second to raise the chair seat up and down. The third to tilt the seat angle and lock - this mechanism also has a weight tensioner.
Synchro (2 lever) This Superior operator has 2 levers, however it is far better than the "Twin lever" mech above. One lever allows the back rake and the seat tilt to simultaneously move in a 2:1 ratio the back moving twice as much as what the seat does - this is what they say provides the optimum seat/back positioning. The 2nd lever raises the seat up and down - this mechanism also has a weight tensioner.
Weight Tensioner Any chair that has this feature allows you to tilt back in an operator chair or executive chair without locking the tilt. The term weight tensioner is what it does, a wheel on the front of the mechanism under the seat can be turned to increase or decrease the resistance of the tilt allowing the user to "free float".
Free Float The term given when the weight tensioner is adjusted to create more resistance so you can recline without locking the chair in position.
Locking Tilt This is found on the executive ranges - the chairs can be tilted and locked in any position, ideal if you like putting your feet up.
Cantilever This is the shape of the frame on boardroom, meeting and visitor chairs, even though it is heavy duty there is an amount of flex in it which creates a slight bounce - nice!
Ratchet back height The back on operator chairs with this system allows you to raise the back height very easily. You simply sit in the chair and lift the back which then in turn clicks on a ratchet locking in the required position. To lower the back lift to the max height and it drops to minimum setting ready to start again.
Easy Assembly Certain chairs need a little self assembly, but only if you choose the ones that say "easy assembly - KD" . If it doesn't state this then it is fully assembled. A saving is made when you assemble.
KD (Knocked-Down) When assembly is required by you the item comes KD (Knocked Down) in a box - this merely means you have to slot a few parts together or at worst screw the arms on an executive chair. Really it's no big deal, if it is, then you do have the option.
Fully Assembled If you don't like "Do It Yourself", then buy the built up assembled version off us - then you won't be sorry.
